The Main Event Racing Series visited "Kar Killer" Speedway last week, well most of the teams took on the tricky track. Matt Finney continued his hot streak, qualifying at 92 mph, and leading the way in the 100 lapper. Travis Ulberg finished second, Mike Miller third. Mike Spinelli was the one DNF, he got nudged going into 4 and ate the end of the concrete wall.
The teams head for friendlier confines, at the Sandusky Speedway. Many stock car legends have raced there over the years, including Bobby Allison and the late Dale Earnhardt. Known more for it's open wheel racing now, Sandusky hosts the Main Event Series again after a long time of going without any late model races.
Just two races remain, and Matt has a seemingly insurmountable point lead. The outlaw late models are scheduled to return in May.
The haulers are heading toward Daytona USA for the Daytona Speedweeks. This year the ISRS brings back the Rolex 24 "Race Around the Clock". The popular Camper World Trucks make their first appearance. The following week the Nationwide Series will start off it's limited schedule on the high banks. And the Speedweeks top off with the Great American Race.
Good luck at Sandusky!!!
